Jaigarh Fort Jaipur In Hindi, Jaigarh Fort is located in Jaipur, the capital of the western state of Rajasthan, India. Jaigarh Fort is also known as Vijay Fort. It is one of the most famous tourist places in Jaipur, located at a distance of about 15 km from Jaipur city.
Jaigarh Fort is situated on a hill called Chilla Tila in the Aravalli ranges on Mawata Lake, 400 feet above Amer Fort. The fort has two entrances, Dungar Darwaza and Avani Darwaza, which are located in the south and east, respectively.

This fort was built by Raja Jai Singh II in 1726 AD to protect the Amer fort and palace complex and was named after him.
Jaigarh Fort was built and designed by a talented architect named Vidyadhar, due to which this fort attracts a lot of tourists visiting here.
The world's largest cannon has been kept here. Which is called Jaiban. The weight of this cannon is 50 tons. This cannon has an 8-meter-long barrel feature, the most famous cannons in the world.
At the fort's highest point is the watchtower, about seven stories. From here, one has a panoramic view of the whole city.
This fort is also known as Vijay Fort. This fort is 3 kilometers long and 1 kilometer wide. The outer walls of this fort are made of red sandstone, and the layout inside is also very interesting.
A beautiful square garden is present in its center. There are large courts and halls with beautiful windows.
The fort houses the Lakshmi Vilas, Vilas Mandir, Lalit Mandir, and Aaram Mandir, which were used during the royal family's rule.
The attraction of this fort has increased due to two old temples, the 10th-century Ram Harihar temple, and the 12th-century Bhairav temple. Amer Fort is connected to the Jaigarh Fort by a secret passage. It was built for the evacuation of women and children during the Emergency. A reservoir is also at the center to supply water to the Amer Fort.
