History of Timangarh Fort Karauli
The Yaduvanshi king Timanapal, a mighty ruler in the 12th century AD, contributed significantly to rebuilding this fort in 1244 AD. This fort is named after the king Timangarh.
The architecture of Timangarh Fort is unique and attracts tourists as compared to other forts of Rajasthan. The fort has more than 80 ramparts. The main gate is known as Jaganpol.
Anti-social elements made these forts in ruins to extract money and idols.
In this fort, the twin wells of Nand-Bhojai, Rajgiri Bazaar, the floor of the fort, Tel Kuan-Chak, Amkhas Prasad, temple, horsemen, and living quarters of the defense have been built.
During the Mughal rule, this fort was controlled and ruled by the Mughals. There are many gates in this fort.
About the fort, the people of the village say that this fort is cursed by a trapeze artist named Nathan. It is said that a king asked Nat-Natni to go somewhere on a rope, and that king promised Nat that if he could do this feat, he would get half of his kingdom as a reward.
According to the king's condition, when Nat returned after walking on the rope, the queen thought that Nat would be successful, so she ordered him to cut the cord.
Nut fell off the rope and died after hitting the rock. After Natani's death, Nat dies in her separation and curses the dying king that his kingdom will be ruined.
The architecture of Timangarh Fort is entirely different from other forts in India. This fort is a unique sign of the ancient history of the country. The most notable thing about this fort is that it has five entrances.
There are many stone sculptures on the walls of this fort. Apart from this, pictures of people, cities, and markets have been engraved on the walls. The pillars of the defense also have many stone images of gods and goddesses. The fort's walls take the people here back to their old times.
Here you can see many religious and geometric flowers decorated with designs on the roof of the inside of the fort. People believe that even today, many clay idols are hidden under the temple of this fort.
According to a legend, the people here also believe that there is still a philosopher's stone in the Sagar Lake near the fort, with the touch that anything can turn into gold.
