One of the most beautiful areas that you can visit in Spain is, without a doubt, Navarra.
On a trip through this community, you can enjoy great landscape contrasts, from the green and mountainous Navarrese Pyrenees to the semi-desert places of the royal garden.

Irati Forest in Pyrenees Navarre
You will find the lushest landscapes in Navarra in the Pyrenees, but the most attractive place to visit if you love hiking through lush forests is the Selva de Irati.
It is the second-largest beech forest in Europe, located between the valleys of Aezkoa and Salazar, and is home to three nature reserves.
In this natural enclave that you can only visit on foot, by bicycle, or on an excursion with an authorized 4×4 vehicle, you will find the Irabia Reservoir, one of the most outstanding points from a landscape point of view.
A noteworthy corner in the limits of the Irati Forest, and one of the exits of the nature reserve, are the remains of the old Orbaizeta ammunition factory.
This factory was founded at the end of the 18th century because it was close to an iron mine.

But in this regard, perhaps the most beautiful town is Ochagavia, an ideal place if you are a photography enthusiast because of the diverse and attractive corners you can photograph.

Collegiate Church of Roncesvalles in Navarra
You will find Ochagavia in the Salazar Valley, on the edge of the Irati mentioned above Forest, extending along the banks of a river. And on your walk through the town, you will see beautiful stone houses with slate roofs, some with emblazoned facades.
If there is a spiritual place in Navarra, it is the Collegiate Church of Roncesvalles, the best example of the Gothic style in that community and a key place on the Camino de Santiago.
It is a building built at the beginning of the 13th century, in whose Gothic interior with three naves the 14th-century wooden carving of the Virgin of Roncesvalles is preserved.

Foz de Lumbier in Navarra Outside the Pyrenees, one of the natural corners you can visit on your route through Navarra is the Foz de Lumbier, southeast of Pamplona. |
On the walk through the Foz de Lumbier, a deep gorge that you will cross following the path of the old Irati railway, you will be able to see a wide variety of birds of prey, such as vultures Egyptian vultures or falcons.
For your visit, a gastronomic trip, stop to eat at the Iru-Bide de Lumbier restaurant, a classic in the area, where you can taste home cooking with some elaboration, with local products, highlighting vegetables.

Foz de Lumbier in Navarra
Not far from Lumbier, you find the Foz de Arbayún, the longest of the Navarrese gorges, 6 kilometers long, and 300 meters high.
This deep natural canyon is the result of the erosion of the Salazar river, and during a hiking route, you can also see griffon vultures and other birds of prey.
Now, you can also go on a horseback ride through the Foz de Arbayún, a different way of going through an area of the gorge in an excursion of about two hours.
